Weigh Changes at the time of delivery how to manage the Billing

Hi Experts,

Need your help

We have a scenario where in the weight of the product can change at the time of delivery

For example at the time of the sales order the weight of the material is 100 kg but at the time of dispatching the material in truck it has changed to 98 kg.

Now we have to do the invoice with the weight 98

Kindly suggest how to map this process in SAP

Yours is a classic case of Proof Of Delivery relevance for the delivery. You can do goods issue and set up POD in your system. When the information comes regarding the quantity that was actually received, POD quantity can be updated. Based on this the invoice will be created.

Hi Indranil,

As we will get to know the material weight before the PGi and after the calculation of weight we will dispatch to the customer

We will calculate the Truck weigt + Materail weight= Gross weight

Hi Krushnakumar Rathi,

I have the same scenario but for different industry,

If you are calculating the price based on netweight or gross weight , you can use separate condition type in pricing procedure.

EX: let say i brought 10quantity with net weight 25kg at time of sales order , but i will get to know exact weight at the time of delivery-say it may be 26kg.

Just change the netweight in delivery , system will calculate the price based on netweight or gross weight ( if you are calculating the price based on gross wt or net wt).

Yes this is a normal scenario and you can change the weight in delivery before doing PGI. On the other hand, if you know only at the time of billing, then you need to go for a zee table where you need to have input fields like Delivery reference, Material Code, Net Weight and Gross Weight etc. User should update this table as and when the weight changes, so that in background, it should also update the LIPS table. So when billing document is generated, system through a relevant billing exit, should check this table and update the weight accordingly.
