CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW method not working with Apple Safari Browser

Hi Folks,

I have created a WD application in which I have a button, on click of which I access a URL. But the url opens in new window since I am using CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW method.

When I run this application in Internet Explorer, everything works as expected. But when I run this application in Apple Safari Browser of iPhone, the application runs fine till the point I click the button to open the URL. Basically there is no external window created, so no access to the URL.

Any ideas what is happening here?

You should check the platform availability matrix on the service marketplace anytime you have questions about browser support. http://service.sap.com/pam

Web Dynpro ABAP doesn't support Safari at all until NetWeaver 7.02. Even then it is only offically supported on MacOS.

As far as I know, WD ABAP doesn't support any mobile web browser.

You can search for Thomas's Jung reply on the same in forum.
