Issues with Windows 2008 Server, BOE 3.1 SP3 and Oracle client

Hello All,

I have a Oracle database client installation issue with Windows 2008 server R2 64bit OS. The environment setup is done with Business Objects 3.1 SP3 and repository is on MySQL database. The Business objects is installed in a directory as follows:

"C:\Program Files(x86)\Business Objects ". Now I need to install oracle client. Here comes the question whether to install Oracle 32bit or 64bit client? If oracle 32bit or 64 bit both works fine then which version of oracle client should be installed?

And secondly if oracle client is installed and any reports are built using oracle database then it will not work. Because the business objects is installed in a directory "C:\Program Files(x86)\Business Objects" . Oracle treats the path name " (x86) " as special character and will not work. Is this true or have any solution to resolve this.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Mahesh

Hi,

As far as I know BO is a 32bit application so I think it will need the 32bit client.

Are you installing Enterprise?
