Dear All,

We have to delete our journals which are more than 500 journal files. But when i try to delete the first journal i get a error as "Cannot allocate object QSQJRN0316 in library R3DEVJRN"

Cause . . . . . : Object QSQJRN0316 in library R3DEVJRN type *JRNRCV is in

use.

Recovery . . . : If the error occurred while using the Work with Object

Locks (WRKOBJLCK) command or the List Object Locks (QWCLOBJL) API,

information about the holder of the lock can not be determined at this time.

Otherwise, use the WRKOBJLCK command to determine the lock holder. Once the

lock holder no longer holds the lock on the object, try the request again.

However by checking journal detail of 316 it shows status -saved and

Receiver . . . . . . . : QSQJRN0316

Journal . . . . . . . : QSQJRN

Threshold (K) . . . . : 200000

Attach date . . . . . : 07/06/10

Detach date . . . . . : 07/06/10

Save date . . . . . . : 09/26/10

in WRKOBJLCK command shows as

Opt Job User Lock Status Scope Thread

SAPSAVE QSECOFR *SHRRD HELD *JOB

Also we have journal backup running in midnight would that have locked. How can we check please advice

obviously, the backup is still running .... perhaps on MSGW ?

You could check in WRKACTJOB ... all more questions are consulting now ... please let me know if we should support you there ...
