SAP MSCS Error

Dear All,

We are installing the HA on windows 2003. We have installed the followings:-

Node A

Oracle software

Oracle Fail Safe

Oracle Faile Sare Client

ASCS

ERS

Node B

Oracle software

Oracle Fail Safe

Oracle Faile Safe Client

CI

SAP Group (sapgrp)

Database instance

After performing the instllation when we check the status of

Enqueue replication server by executing the following command

ensmon pf=D:\usr\sap\CPD\ERS10\profile\CPD_ERS10_SAPPRDERP 2

We get the error

"Replication server is enabled in server but no repl. server is connected"

Hi,

As per my knowledge if you check the installation guide for MSCS setup the ERS has to be installed on both the nodes(locally). As per your steps, that is not done on Node B. Install the ERS on Node B also and after that check the command it should work.

Please go through the installation guide thoroughly which will give all the steps clearly.

Hi Sharath,

Thanks for your reply. We just did that and the issue got resolved. Even the ensmon.exe is showing the correct result. But now we are stuck with another problem.

When the resources are active on Node A, we are successfully able to logon to SAP. But once we move all the groups (SAP, DB, cluster) to node B, the SAP MMC on Node B shows all instances active but we are not able to log on.

The CI was installed on Node A and after moving the group to Node B, in MMC, it appears as "NodeA 01". Should this be appearing as "sapgrp 01" in SAP MMC or is it ok?

Your help on this will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

As I said earlier, please check the Installation Guide for all steps for MSCS. Now for SAP installation in MSCS, dailog instance installation is mandatory. In your case, you have to install the dialog instance in Node B (As you said CI was installed in Node A). Install the dialog instance on Node B. (Note: make sure that system number for Dialog instance on Node B should be same as Central instance system number on Node A and installed should be done on local disk) and check.

Regarding your query it is displaying correctly as Node A 01 as it installed locally. Similarly Dialog instance has to be installed locally.
