Hello,
Information:
SAP System: SAP ECC 6.0 (ABAP only - Unicode)
Database: Oracle 10.2.0.4
Operation System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux X86_64
I want to ask you which parameters you typically set after installing a SAP system (ECC 6.0) on Linux X86_64 with Oracle database (in my case the version 10.2g)?
I have very little experience in linux environments with Oracle, I have more experience in windows server environments. I realized that by default the parameters SAP instance on Linux are defined with other parameters and values!
Someone can tell me what the most appropriate parameters to set (in RZ10) to an SAP system on Linux so I can take advantage of better performance of my SAP system which are in Linux/Oracle 10.2?
If you don´t mind to share this information I will thank you!
Best regards,
João Dimas - Portugal

Hello to all,
By the way... it already pass some weeks when I opened this thread, now I will update with some information about one problem...
We faced a problem when we tried to start one of our linux systems... and the problem was the memory and how it is configured... we already solve this situation, the solution was to change the value of es/implementation parameter to value = std instead the value = map.
For more details you can read the following URL:

Hi,
As above the notes will definetly help you to comapre the parmater value, but as a standard practice system parameters (DB & OS) are recommended by SAP for a new / as a pre-golive check activities will check and submit a report to you which is generally dependent and can't be the same with any other system.

Hello Joao,
There are several parameters . Few import ones are:
1. SAPLOCAHOST
2. SAPLOCALHOSTFULL
3. Time out parameters.
4. Security related parameters (password length, mutiple logins etc.)
5 icm* parameters (In case of ABAP or Dual stack)
6 Memory parameters: (OSS note 941735 and 146289 are useful guides)
Oracle parameters also have SAP notes for them but that depends of oracle release. For 10.2.04 refer to 1166258.
Regards.
Ruchit.
