Hello all,

I will install soon 3 SAP products : SAP Solution manager 7 ehp1, SAP ERP6 SR3 and the Content Serveur 6.40.

I wanted to know if the situation about window 2008 R2 has change ?

I have read SAp note 1383873 and i have look in the PAM and that i have understand is AS and DB oracle 10.2 are supported on window 2008 R2.

Is there someone who can clarify this point.

Thx for help

Regards

Thx for your reply.

Yes you right about the interpretation of the SAP note.

On the PAM file, effectively there is no dedicated column for window 2008 R2 but in the page N°5 we can read : (*2)Including Windows Server 2008 R2 (Planned for Q3 2010)

So we have the Box ( oracle 20.2 / window 2008 ) in Green ( means AS & DB supported )...and on other side we have (Planned for Q3 2010).... 😃 what to conclude? not yet suported i suppose someone can confirm?

simple:

it was planned to be supported on Q3 2010... but is still not supported.

Q3 2010 ends in a few days... it looks like they might miss their target.

so, right now, it's a no-go.

Both Windows Server 2008 R2 and MS MSQL 2008 R2 are officially supported by SAP as of Mid-September 2010.

Please see the following notes: SQL Server 2008 R2 - 1076022 & Windows Server 2008 R2 - 1494740

Thanks!

Hi,

Fron the note 1383873 I could infer that the situation remains the same and SAP is still validating windows server R2 for the earlier versions like 7.01 of SAP. The PAM still talks about Windows server 2008 but not R2 for oracle DB.

Hope this helps.
