Hello,
I'm new in Web Dynpro for ABAP, I know it in JAVA. I want to know if it is possible to avoid authentication in a Web Dynpro ABAP Application. How could I achive this?
Thankls & Regards
SU
Do you mean no authentication at all (running as a anymous user) or just transparent Single Sign On.
For Transparent Single Sign On:
The approved way is to run your application within the NetWeaver Portal or the NetWeaver Business Client. The WDA application will then pickup the SSO ticket generated by the portal/NWBC. The portal then also provides the functionality to bridge external authentication mechanism for trusted ticket geneation without prompting the user for a password.
If you mean completely anonymous, then you can technically do this as well. In transaction SICF you can maintain logon settings for each service node. You can embed a service user in a service node to create an anonymous service. However you should check with your SAP account executive as doing this in many cases (although techincally possible) is a violation of SAP licesnse agreement.

Hello Thomas,
Thanks for your response. In my case I need the anonymous user and I understand the license topics that we must work with SAP. But have you any detail in how I can enable this?
I don't understand how to configure, "You can embed a service user in a service node to create an anonymous service".
Kind Regards

I described this step in my original posting:
In transaction SICF you can maintain logon settings for each service node. You can embed a service user in a service node to create an anonymous service.
Are you familiar with SICF? This is the transaction code where you can configure settings per application. In this hiearchy you will find all Web Dynpro ABAP applications - along with all BSP, ITS and Web Services. You can edit any node. So find the node for your WDA application and edit it. In edit mode on a service you will have multiple tabs. On the second tab, named Logon Data, you can specify a username and password - of a service user - that you want this service node to run as automatically.
