Hi Team,
While creating the job documents the following error is coming
"System is not assigned to the leading role"
"System is not assigned to the leading role
Message no. AGS_EJR_MESSAGE032
Diagnosis
System is not assigned to the leading role
Procedure
You can only monitor systems with the leading role"
Here I was trying to assign the logical component. But end up with the above error.
Regards,
Shyjith
Do you mean solution or system? The leading role of a solution is defined in tcode SOLMAN_DIRECTORY. E.g., if it's set to production, then you can only monitor production systems that are assigned to that solution.
According to the [BPMon FAQ|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/FAQBusinessProcess+Monitoring#FAQBusinessProcessMonitoring-Isitalsopossibletomonitornonproductivebackendsystems%3F]:
>
Is it also possible to monitor non-productive backend systems?
A: Yes. Although Business Process Monitoring was designed to monitor core business processes which are running on productive backend systems, it is technically also possible to monitor non-productive systems. The preferred way is to create a second solution in your SAP Solution Manager where the "Leading Role" is non-productive (e.g. Test or Development). You can then re-use the same business processes and the same logical components in order to monitor your test or development system. Alternatively you can make it "quick & dirty" and create a new logical component where your test or development system is put into the productive role.

Sean

Hello Shyjith,
Sean is right. The Job Monitoring from a Job Documentation in SAP Solution Manager use the infracstructure of the Business Process Monitoring and therefore works only for the systems that are assigned to the leading role of a solution.
If you want to monitor test systems copy the solution and change the leading role of the copied solution to QAS.
After importing a job from a managesd system into a Job Documentation the steps to setup Job Monitoring are:
1. Assign a business process step from a solution (you could also create a dummy business process and add a steps for each job) to your Job Documentation
2. Setup Job Monitoring as demonstrated in this tutorial: http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700001911422008E.sim
Note that business process monitoring has to be setup and activated before hand. I ususally setup appl. log monitoring for the process.
Regards,
Martin
