When i check for the properties for the service.Below is what i can see.

sapscs<sid>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\saposcol.exe

I can see somthing suspicious with this. Please someone advise regarding the same.Thanks.

Hello,

What error do you get in event viewer when saposcol service does not

start

Try a reboot of Windows to release any shared memory saposcol has

If you still have the problem try to start from a command prompt

d:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\exe\sapstartsrv

Do you get an error?

sapstartsrv.exe is used to create SAP service... but not SAPOSCOL.

someone gave you a SAP note to install. have you tried it?

Hi All,

The issue got resolved.Changed the registry values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SAPOSCOL

image path to the one which has been working in other systems. Not sure if that is the right way to do it.Thanks.

this is not the right way to do it.

and.. MMC is not SAPMMC.

MMC, in your case, refers to Windows Service screen (services.mmc)

now, please set this topic's status to answered.

SAP note 19227 clearly states:

The installation of the SAPOsCol service is described in Note 436186

Former Member

in current product versions saposcol is no longer installed as a dedicated Windows Service.

Hence there should be no saposcol Windows Service any longer.

saposcol is started as a child process by the Windows Service SAPHostExec.

Hello,

Make sure sid<adm> is account used to start saposcol

and it is in local admin group

Saposcol does not need a profile to start

pf=
sapscs<sid>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\saposcol.exe

- Did you install saposcol as a service using set up a

service for saposcol as follows:

ntscmgr.exe install SAPOsCol -b <path_to_saposcol>\saposcol.exe -p

service

<op>: install, remove, query, start, stop, continue, interrogate

<service>: name of the service

b - path of binary service file

m - specifies computer name
