DBACOCKPIT configuration in managed system setup giving error

Former Member

Hi

When I try to configure one of our managed systems using the Guided Setup I get an error when I do the DBACOCPIT step. The system in question was at one time connected to another Solution Manager system and we are now moving it to a new one. I have uninstalled the SMD Agent and installed the new Host Agent and Diag Agent 7.11. When I do the DBA Cockpit step it tells me that the system is already setup in another Solution Manager and refers me to note 1232928.

I want to uninstall the backend there and then get it reinstalled on the new SolutionManager instance but even if I delete the entries out of the DBACOCKPIT on the old Solution Manager it still gives the same error. Is there another uninstallation step I am missing? Can anyone assist with the procedure of how to decouple this system from the old Solution Manager?

Thanks

Leigh

Hi There

You need to follow the steps in the SAP Note 1265134 to setup the DBACOCKPIT.

Hi,

Please kindly check in 'Agent Administration' if SMD Agent is running and

conected to SolMan if you can't see the Agent please check if it is

visible in SLD, if it is please connect it to SolMan and then run

setup again. Otherwise please uninstall SMD Agent and install it again

conecting it directly to your SolMan using HTTP Connection via Message

Server.

You may want to refer to the 'Diagnostics Agent Setup Guide' available at

https://service.sap.com/diagnostics should be very helpful.

As per the mentioned note: Please refer to SAP note 1232928

"

...

You switch to the DBA Cockpit that has the authorizations to

configure the back end, and you uninstall the back end there. You can

then reinstall the back end in the new instance.

You can see on "Screen Performance -> Performance Warehouse ->

Configuration" which DBA Cockpit currently has the authorizations to

change the back end. The SAP system ID of the relevant DBA Cockpit is

specified there in the line for the "Monitoring DBA Cockpit".

"

You need to switch to the dba cockpit that has authorizations to

change the backend system then uninstall the backend, and then you can

do this configuration step without the above error.

Hope this helps.

Hi SH

Thanks for the reply

The new diagnostics agent (I uninstalled the old one based on 7.0 and reinstalled the Host Agent and 7.11 Agent) is connected to the new Solman and started - I can see it in Agent Administration.

I tried stopping and starting it however the DBA Configuration step in the Guided Setup still gives the same error.

In DBA COCKPIT in the old Solution Manager I have deleted the entry for this system. But I don't know where to find

Screen Performance -> Performance Warehouse ->Configuration. Where is this?

Also I don't know HOW to uninstall the backend. As mentioned I uninstalled the old SMD Agent and deleted the entries out of the DBA Cockpit on the old Solman but still get the error. How do I uninstall if not like this?

Thanks

Leigh
