XI Installation problems

Hi,

Our XI installation failed during the phase deploying SAPXIAF04_1.SCA. Error message in SDM :

Jul 14, 2006 12:35:07... Error: Aborted: development component 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.app'/'sap.com'/'SAP AG'/'7.0004.20050713150837.0000':

Caught exception while checking the login credentials for SAP J2EE Engine. Check whether the SAP J2EE Engine is up and running.

com.sap.engine.deploy.manager.DeployManagerException: ERROR: Cannot connect to Host: [cixid] with user name: [J2EE_ADMIN]

Check your login information.

Exception is:

com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception while trying to get InitialContext. [Root exception is com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext instance.]

(message ID: com.sap.sdm.serverext.servertype.inqmy.extern.EngineApplOnlineDeployerImpl.checkLoginCredentials.DMEXC)

I have check the login name and password OK. There is an OSS note 756084 section 4 suggesting the problem was due to TicketLoginModule. I dont think we have change any login modules as it is an installation. We also couldnt start the VA.

Any suggestions to help to move forward are grealy appreciated.

Hi,

We fixed the problem doing the following:

Configtool -> dispatcher -> Service -> P4,

for bindhost option, we enter our CI instance hostname/ipadress (default is 0.0.0.0)

Have you been able to resolve this issue? ANy feedback? We are having a similar problem with an existing installation.
