SAML Authentication For Outbound Service Calls

I have a requirement to call an external web service from within some ABAP code that will authenticate using a SAML token. We have successfully consumed an ABAP service using SAML authentication, but cannot see a way of attaching a SAML token to an outbound request.

Our system is ECC6, SP18. We do not have AS Java installed on this instance, although we do have a seperate java instance of NW07 elsewhere in our environment.

Can anyone tell me how to achieve this?

Hi Claire,

this should work on the ABAP system using the SAML 1.1 Holder-of-the-Key profile. This is supported since NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP.
