which RHEL Server Edition to choose ?

Hi Experts,

I'm going to install SAP on RHEL. So I looked at the online-shop at redhat and found a normal "Redhat Enterprise Linux Server Edition" and a special edition for SAP.

The differences I found are a higher Support contract, a SAP channel on top and of course the price.

Redhat Enterprise Linux Server : 282,- EUR

Redhat Enterprise Linux Server for SAP : 2021,- EUR

Can somebody give me some advice ? Which Edition do I need ?

Thanks in advance

regards

Dirk

For a fresh Installation the basic "Redhat Enterprise Linux Server" comes with all requirements.

Sure

but do not forget, that the SAP channel provides a supported version of the IBM JDK 1.4.2. In case you have any J2EE component running on x86_64, you need the SAP channel to get a supported JDK.
