Enabling ECM by the Material Type

I have a requirement where materials are created by both Engineering and operations people. Engineering wants to keep track of all the changes they do to their materials and operations doesn't.

For example Engineering creates FERT and operations HALB. We want to enable ECM with history reqt for materials since Engineering needs to know and recall Materials in past revisions. But we do not want to force operations to enter an ECN number everytime they make changes to HALBs.

Hello Ranger,

I came across similar requirement.

This feature is not available in standard but can be done with development.

For this development ,there is a user exit for making certain fields in Material Master mandatory under certain conditions.
