Messages not getting Archived in PI

Hi All,

We are trying to archieve messages in PI. In SARA , we are able to write and delete the archives, but the issue is messages are not getting deleted from database. after deletion also we are able to see the messages in sxi_monitor.

Also ther is a variant we are using while writing the archive. kindly suggest what may the values for the variant..?

Before and after archival writing and deletion, ReORG STATUS reports shows the same no of messages for archival.

Please help us in solving the issue

Hi,

For message archiving we need to perform few steps without that we can't arhive/delete messages. Find below link for more help.

after deletion also we are able to see the messages in sxi_monitor.

I think it is just the entry that is visible.....if the message is really deleted from the DB and if you try to open the message entry in SXMB_MONI, then you will get some message like "the message is no longer available"

The messages are availble in SXI_monitor

also reorg status report I can see below output.

Message and adapter status is ignored in the following

- Msgs not in retention period (can be archived): 5,344,889

- Msgs in retention period (cannot be archived): 489,638

Message and adapter status is considered in the following

- Msgs not in retention period (can be archived): 5,344,612

Are you sure Deletion is configured for your SAP PI system?

Yes deltion is configured for PI,

In archive management I can see the deletion completed successfully. but in SXI_MONITOR i can see the details of last 3 months.

Dear Pradeep,

reading this thread I am pretty sure that the archiving session is coming up with inappropriate startup parameters. Please note that it is essential to configure archiving sessions from PI UI. To do so please de-schedule all other archiving sessions and run transaction SXMS_ADMI_ARCH. Using that transaction the very next archiving session will be started using correct parameters.
