Optimizer settings and tuning

New to SCM 7.0 and Optimizer and was wondering how to get optimizer tuned in for production lines. Is it the goal of optimizer to always try and fill open capacity ? (as long as you have products set up so they can be built early enough) Also see that items plan late but the production line appears to have time in the month where the product was needed. Any pointers ?

Hi Jose,

Optimizer can be set and tuned to fulfil our business requirement.

First of all, thorough study has to be made on business production

lines to identify the basic constraints like capacity, resource, manpower

etc., and to be optimised accordingly. Moreover the optimising factor

cost has to be chosen to use whether nominal value or actual value

etc., to be decided. If set up requires optimisation, set up costs,

set up times etc., needs to be maintained
