Services Procurement vs Plan driven Procurement .

What is the difference between Services Procurement and Plan driven Procurement ?

Can we get service through Plan driven Procurement ?

I though Plan driven Procurement allows us to create SC from PM / PS and MRP and lets us connect to SAP and Non SAP systems

Whereas this isnt possible in Services Procurement .

Am I on the right track ?

Hi

Plan Driven procurement - Any procuremnt(Material) which is initiated from planning system e.g. Consumption based planning or MRP etc. for example, PM , PP, PS system generate requirements which gets converted into Purchase requisitions as a result of MRP Run comes under Plan Driven Procurement.

These requirements are pushed to SRM in Plan Driven Procurement Scenario. The basic purpose of this is to utilize the Sourcing capabilities of SRM to achieve efficiency and cost reduction in such purchases. Contract negotiations, RFx/Live Auctions components are available to make the process efficient.

Service Procurement - These requirements are generally not created by planning runs, but PM PS system can alwyas request for services and such Open requirements can be pushed from ECC to SRM7.0(on the lines of materials procurmenet described above). But this feature requires ECC EhP 4 as backend system.

Otherwise Service procuremnet scenario deals with procuremnet of services in terms of consulting, External staffing, maintenance etc from SRM.
