SAPS rating of a Power5+ i550

I've been asked what the SAPS rating is of our 4 way Power5+ 550 with 64Gb of memory.

Tried Googling it but couldn't find it in the public domain.

Does anyone have that figure to hand?

Regards

Steve

Hi Stephan - We have a Power5+ i570 and IBM tells us that a Power5+ processor gets 1700 SAPS per CPU.

Hope it helps,

Thanks Margie. They've got the same CPW so I guess they would have the same SAPS. That's the number I'll report back.

Hi Stephen,

at least when the architecture is the same, the same CPWs will end up in the same SAPS.

So, you are defeinetely correct here and at least as a "very good guess", you can always use this comparrison, even when it is not fully correct for different CPU types ... I do it as rule of thumb always as well ...

I suspect iSeries is most likely similar to zSeries regarding SAPS. If so, only IBM is capable of giving you the SAPS rating for your configuration.
