Hello all,
i would like to know how to use stop offs in Standard SAP. what would be the shipment type that would be assigned to stop offs and how would the leg determination be carried out. Pl. advise
Thanks,
Maxx.
hi,
Can you explain what exactly you mean by 'stop off' ? Are you talking about scenario where you want to stop and drop part of the goods in one location, and then drop the rest in different destination?

hi Maxx,
Standard way is to have stages at shipment defining different destination locations. You can define stages manually at shipment, but better way to get them determined automatically.
For that each delivery has different destination (ship-to). The shipment type definition should have correct value under 'determine legs - eg .'1' (legs determined according to departure point & itinerary). If you define stages under the route, then also the sequence of the stages (which is the first drop point, which is 2nd) will be taken from the route stages setup.
But note, that route at deliveries might be different than the route at the shipment header.

Dominik,
Thanks for your valuable reply.
is there any way to print shipping documents for each stages or for each stop offs.
we have a scenario where we want to print individual shipping documents like BOL(bill of lading) for each individual stop offs/stages.
Pl. advise on whether this can be done in standard SAP.
Thanks,
Maxx
Hi,
I suggest to get output types triggered at shipment header level. So that you can use standard layout programs/forms etc.
When defining output conditions/tables make sure that you define criteria location specific (eg. with ship-to). Then if you have multiple ship-to locations in one shipment, you should get multiple outputs, each for the corresponding ship-to address. And each of them should trigger separate printout specific for each location.
The main watchout is if all the deliveries would be included in the printouts or only the selected ones for given stop. So potentially slight changes might be required in the printing programs. But that depends how your 'standard' bill of lading layouts are constructed currently.

HI Dominik,
Thanks for your reply.
you have suggested that we can define multiple ship to locations in one shipment and generate outputs for each ship to locations.
are you suggesting to define stages for each ship to location and generate outputs for each stages.
If yes can we have all stages as main leg or do we need to define the initial stage as preliminary leg and so on.
Thanks,
Maxx
