Upload multiple documents types as test note?

Hi,

We are creating Testnotes within the testmanagement.

But we face the following problem:

We want to upload documents of multiple types - not all of them regular office types.

When uploading documents with file ending .doc, everything is fine.

When uploading documents with file ending .exe or .uti, the system tries to open the document and fails.

Error "The document cannot be edited" (SOLAR_DOC020).

Addtionally, I can not select another document type, to choose between the possible options.

How can I

- disable this automatic opening of documents??

- use the drop down menu to choose between different document types??

I appreciate your help,

Jan

Hi Jan,

To upload files with different extensions, the only restriction that you have is that your computer should be able to open this document. I mean, if your trying to upload an winrar file for example, you should have the winrar program installed in your computer and so on, because it is the normal behavior of the system to open the file as soon as it is uploaded, and if your computer have no program configured to open it, so it'll show this message.

I hope that this help you to understand the system's behavior

kind regards,

Fabricius

Hi,

Yes, I see that the uploaded file is opened.

One strange behaviour occurs for non-office files though.

I tried to upload a .exe-file.

-> That file can be "opened" - but it is not uploaded or stored.

Our workaround is now:

create a word-document, embed the non-office file, upload the word-document.

As drag & drop is possible, it's not too complicated.

Regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

If you are running SAP Gui 7.10 with patch level of 0, then I would suggest you update it to a more recent patch.

It may not be the same issue however the same problem message that you got is a known problem wth 7.10 Patch 0 (SAP Note 1023083)

Hi,

We have SAP GUI 7.10 with patch level 7.

I do not think it's an GUI problem.

Rather a SAP workflow issue - a test note is expected to be a note (i.e. something editable) not an attachment.

But I have no confirmation.

Would be great to disable the editor, so that test notes can be opened / downloaded right away as non-office files.
