Disp+work started and then stopped

Hello Experts,

I upgrade the Hardware. my old OS is windows 2003 Server and my New OS is Windows 2008 server. I installed fresh SAP on new Server and updates the Patch level as OLD.... then I detach the blank database and attach the new database..... and restart the Server..... I got an error with disp+work.... its started in begining and then stopped.....

so try to solve this with your experience.

Hi,

STM stands for SAP Tools for MS SQL Server.

There can also be some errors with users and logins.

You would have to do a System Copy target installation.

Hello Dhaval,

The log shows your <sid>adm user probably doesn't have permission to startup the database.

Please grant the required permission for the user, I am not sure how its done in MSSQL, probably use the SQL Analyser or something similar to SQLPLUS (Oracle).

Have a look at the note:

Note 1414121 - Cannot execute as the server principal

Hi Dhaval ,

Issue is seems to be with the schema conversion of your source DB to target DB.

You may need either run STM tool .Otherwise you can run the scripts attached with the SAP note Refer SAP note Note 551915 .Here You will get a Zip file in that Two scripts are attached. Use the appropriate script to run. You have to customize the scripts for your scenario.

Hi,

the error is caused by a schema mismatch because you attached the database of a system with a different SID.

If your using Microsoft SQL Server you can se the STM Tools to repair the mismatch.

Hello Dhaval,

Have you tried diagnosing the cause by checking the log files? if you have, you will appreciate that nobody can help you, if there are no log files to look at.

Please post the log files found in /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<instanc>/work directory.

For e.g. you could post the contents of dev_w0 here.
