PDF printing

Hi gurus,

I have one question regarding PDF printing.

What are the prerequisites for running existing Adobe Forms. We do not want modify any form and we do not want interactive form.

We just want to run a standard report which has u201CPDF form formatu201D radio button on the selection screen.

Please let me know what configuration I need to do for that.

I already did:

SPAD -> ZPDF -> Device Type: PDF1 -> Device class: Standard Printer -> Host Spool Access Method: F -> Host printer: __DEFAULT

And when I run the report and choose the printer ZPDF it says u201CSpool number 0000000000 LIST2Su201D

Which is of course empty and does not exist in SP02.

Am I missing anythingu2026.Please help.

Hello,

To use the Windows GUI to print to PDF, set up a default printer on

your local PC using FILE (the print to file port) and the Generic / Text

Only driver.

Then, when you print to the PDF1 output device, SAPLPD will be launched

and you will be prompted for a filename. Enter c:\filename.pdf (for

example).

You can also try to install the software PDF-XChange from the following url

To get this to work, you need to set up a 'Print to File' printer in the

Windows print manager of your Frontend PC as follows:

a. 'Settings' -> 'Printer' -> 'Add Printer'

b. On the window that appears, click on 'Next' button.

c. Select 'Local Printer' and click on 'Next'

d. Select the port 'PDF-XChange'

Then in the output device definition in transaction SPAD, you need to

set the Host Printer field to the same name as you defined your 'Print

to File' printer in the Windows.

Look at Note 317851. In the 'attachments' section, download the locally required attachment. Then unzip the downloaded file - there is a file 'Readme.Upload' which gives you the steps to upload the other file in the zip - 'ZPDF1.PRI' (for example). Here is the relevant part of the file:

Use SE38 transaction in R/3 to execute report RSTXSCRP. Enter parameters:

Select radiobutton "device type"

Object name: Zxxxyyyy (this is the name of the device type)

Mode: IMPORT

Select radiobutton "File system: GUI"

(All other parameters with default values)

Execute report. Later, a popup window will appear, prompting you to

select the Z.....PRI file
