C-Projects : Inconsistent Cost Computation

Former Member

Hi,

We have SAP c-projects4.5 suite installed on SAP CRM7.0 server. The landscape also includes ECC5.0. The requirement scope encompasses project planning, project execution, managing CRM opportunity and accounting using c-projects. The necessary interface and connections have been established. However, the cost computation(Cost planning with task based assignment)

is inconsistent. During project planning, on some occasions, the planned costs are displayed while on other instances they are not. Also, the costs displayed are negative.

Any checklist post installation/inputs for these issues will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Pradeepkumar Haragoldavar

Hi,

I suppose there is problem with your accounting integration. Can you please tell, how is the integrtation whether its internal order or WBS based. How you planned cost is getting calucaulated based on cost revenue rate of project role and whether CR rate is already assigned to task in configuration.

Hey Pradeep,

The costing of cProject based on the replication to ERP PS. You can take a look the replicated ERP PS project, if it's costs is O.K or not.

Get the linked PS Project_ID from cProject, then e.g. go to ERP backgroud system run CJ20N, navigate to ECP. Take a look at the costs.

Kind regards,

Hi Sejo,

Yes. On occasions, the message is regarding the missing 'Organizational Unit' and sometimes the planned cost is negative in value.

Hi Pramod,

Its via Internal Order and task based costing approach has been adopted.

Hi Pradeep,

I assume you are assigning cost/revenue rates to the tasks for costing. Please ensure the following:

1. Cost/Revenue rates have been replicated back to your ERP System

2. You have assigned cost elements (check validity) and corresponding org units to these cost revenue rates in the ERP System.

3. You can check these errors in detail in the Controlling Cockpit (COCPCPR)

Let me know if this helps.

Vivek Pandey
