Storage location not transferred from SC to PO

Hi Group,

From time to time we notice purchase orders with status "Transfer failed" because the storage location at item level was entered. The storage location however is automatically derived when items are added to the shopping cart and always filled for all positions in the shopping cart related to a PO with the mentioned error. We are on SRM 4.0 (SP14)/SRM Server 5.0 (SP5).

SAP OSS has not been able to provide us with a solution, so hopefully you have some suggestions.

Hi Yann,

The storage location is not transferred from the SC to the PO. This fact results in a backend application error in the SRM application monitor. The error message refers to the missing storage location. So the actual problem is that the storage location is not transferred to the PO, despite it being automatically filled in the SC.

1-Are you able to create a PO directly in R/3 , (not from EBP...) with the same value as the one in the SC ?

2- When you say that SAP OSS did not provide you any solution, you mean the OSS search in service.sap.com ?

Hi Yann,

1- Yes, this is possible;

2- Both a search and a customer message didn't result in a solution.

The only difference we can discover between a successfully and a non-successfully transferred PO is that version control in the PO shows that the purchasing org and group are redetermined in the successful one. However, we have seen two identical SC result in a successful and a non-successful PO.

What did SAP answer on the customer message ? Why do you have this situation ? Are they still searching the cause and a solution ?

Hi Yann,

OSS suggested to implement notes 819857 and 869328. Unfortunately we keep getting the error. SAP indicates that the coding looks and that the Storage location value should be taken over from SC into PO. (program LBBP_PD_SCF0Y, line 222).
