Effects of configurations are not appearing immediately.

Dear BASIS Guru

Functional consultants are facing problem while doing their configurations in development servers. Problem is Effects of configurations are not appearing immediately. In general whenever functional consultant makes some changes or does some configuration. Effect of the same appeared immediately. But in our case this is not happening. Delay is varying from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. In basis point of view we have updated patches, SAP parameters, buffer parameters. Even we have updated oracle patch from 02 to 04. Kernel is latest as per service mkt place

But still the problem is persisting.

Details are

SAP version ECC 6.0 (patch level and kernel level are latest)

Oracle: 10.2.0.4.0 (earlier 10.2.0.2.0)

OS; Windows 2003 SE

Hardware: 64 bit xeon Processor servers, memory 8GB (Development server).

Please guide us.

Dear Sir,

i would like to bring to your notice about the issue being raisedregarding the updation of the changes made during the realization phase.

As from the functional view during implementation we always do the configuration and make changes and then execute the transaction to check the effects of the changes being made.

Here is the scenario where we had Changed the calculation type in the pricing to 17 as required for the rounding off of the taxes.

sales order no:260000005 was created but the effects were not seen as circled in red in the sales order.

After again

sales order no:260000006 was created and now the effects are seen as circled in red in the sales order.

The question is why the system takes long time to update the changes made and the effect to be seen in the transactions. This issue has also been to sap but still we dont have any concrete reply.

The same also happens when any master data is been changed for ex: any fields in the material master, the effect of the same takes some time in the transactions.

Such problem was not faced by me in other client End of mail

Thanks & Regards

Upendra

Hi,

Check the following:

1. If there are pending update requests.

2. Check for lock entries

3. update database statistics

If the issue still persists, ask your functional consultant to stimulate the error and in the mean time check the lock and update entries.

Also check whether you have adequate free space in SYSTEM and UNDO tablespace

Two things, you need to do.

Do Database Statistics.

Run SGEN. (Sometimes, in background the functional module take some time to update)

Check SM12 for the lock table entries.

Dear BASIS experts

thanks a lot. especially SBK.

although table space of Undo and system was adequate. this problem was relating to table space only.

the scenario was table space was 96% and data files are in auto extend mode. although partition (D:\) having 74GB disk space free. surprisingly system was not allowing me to add or extend data files in D:\. this was the cause of the delay.

resolution: created data files in different partition. now system is working fine.

once again thanks a lot for the timely help.

regards

Upendra
