Hi ,

a)Can we do SAP Installation with any Id other than administrator in Windows ..but the Id has been added in the administrator group and having admin rights

b)Is it possible to mirror the translog files of SQL 2008 during installation in a separate drive. like in Oracle..If so How to do it.

c) What is the size required for translog for Installation

I would appreciate your help

You just need a user with local administrator rights for the installation. If you are performing a domain installation either the installation user should have domain admin rights or your domain administrator should prepare the required user/group accounts as per the installation guide

No. You can configure more than one log files but not as mirror.

Use the default value for the installation and then change. There is a best practice document available in SDN

well during the installation the database is created, and it is replica of 'model' system database and default size will work for installation. After installation you want to resize you transaction log anywhere around 10-15 gig. This recommendation is given by microsoft in a white paper.
