I am trying to install a Dialog instance for our test server and I am getting the following error

Info: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS SyCheckHostnameLookup 2 326

checking host name lookup for 'CFSAP4'

Info: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS SyCheckHostnameLookup 2 326

offical host name for 'CFSAP4' is 'CFSAP4.DAKAmericas.com'.

Info: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS SyCheckHostnameLookup 2 326

host 'CFSAP4' has ip address '10.16.6.123'

Info: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS SyCheckHostnameLookup 2 326

offical host name for '10.16.6.123' is 'cfsap4'.

Error: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS SubstituteVariables 2 326

The official name of hostname cfsap4 is CFSAP4. Please check your DNS configuration and insert an entry in etc\hosts.

Error: DIALOGINSTANCE_NT_MSS ColdKeyCheck 2 326

Phase failed.

Error: Main {} 2 326

Installation aborted.

I have checked the DNS setting and found some things, which I have deleted, but still this error, do I need to reboot or is their a some time which I have to wait for the DNS setting to take effect.

Thanks

SAP Notes 83200 and 23538,

SAP treads hostnames case sensitive.

using \etc\hosts should be the last method to fix this because it will bypass DNS.

Example: Central instance corrects it's hostname using \etc\hosts - app-server uses DNS. this situation may result in different hostnames.
