problem with SAP Portal 6.40... huge amount of connections CLOSE_WAIT

Hello,

We're having a very weird problem in our SAP Portal 6.40.

It ocurrs that we have a central instance and 4 app. server.

Sometimes some app. server get hanged and don't provide service. We appreciate a huge amount of connections of frozen app. server with web dispatcher. We restart this app server and service gets working again.

We want to discover the cause of this problem.

Any clue for this?

In defaultrace there is no errors!!

Any help?

patch released from SAP. Now it's working well

Check the syslogs/event logs of the involved servers. Check the dev_serverX / std_serverX files in the work directory.

What exactly does hanged mean? Are you still able to connect to the server, can you still logon on operating system level? Is there any process activity during the hang, or is the box totally idle? What platform are you on?

Edit: Can you post a couple of lines from a netstat -an containing the CLOSE_WAIT? Do you only see them, when a hang happens?
