Upgrading to MDM 7.1 sp05

Dear All

We are trying to upgrade from MDM 7.1 sp01 to sp05. we have downloaded the patch files and doing a typical upgrade option via SAPINST.exe

We are getting the following error when the servers are being started in the 4th phase-

Error in processing. Retry or stop.

On viewing the logs we see below error message-

You start the installation without specifying a startup file via SAPINST_CONTROL_URL in the directory C:/Documents and Settings/md1adm/Desktop. The framework asumes that control.xml or product.catalog has to be used but there doesnt exist such files.If there exist an installation with a different startup filename please specify that filename via SAPINST_CONTROL_URL

Please help in resolving this.
