Does SRM-MDM 3.0 contain an MDSS (syndication server)?

Dear SRM-MDM Experts,

We would like to create our products/services insdie SRM-MDM 3.0 Catalogue as the entry point and then distribute the products/services to our ECC 6.0 back end as material masters/ service masters. The question then is "Does SRM-MDM 3.0 has a syndication server (MDSS) to download products and send them out to ECC 6.0? If SRM-MDM 3.0 does not have an MDSS then how do we achieve our requirement? How can we get new products and deltas out fo SRM-MDM 3.0 to send to back end systems?

Hi Pedzi.

MDSS is not part of licensing package of SRM-MDM Catalog. It contains only MDS, MDIS and other GUI Client tools.

So in order to make use of MDSS, you have to get MDM license separately for this.

You can contact SAP for further details.

Also to achieve your usecase of exporting data from MDM to ECC. If you want to make it automize then MDSS is the only option.

But still you can manually export the data as .xls, .txt or MS-Access format through DataManager and send it back to ECC through some custom based program.

Hi,

Syndication Server is nor part of SRM-MDM Catalog. SRM-MDM Catalog is for catalog search purpose and it is part of SRM license. Your case is master data management purpose and you need to pay for NetWeaver MDM license.
