I would be interested in any views on the selection of SAP Device types, specifically for HP laser printers. Traditionally I have always used the device specific PCL device types readily available but it appears that more and more printer vendors now produce postscript device types for SAP and I have noted that some vendors actually recommend Postscript over PCL - Dell for example.
Does anyone out there have a view for HP? Might the recommendation be dependant on the output type for example - e.g. ADS, Smartforms, SAPscript etc
Hi Nick,
I always prefer Postscript (devtype POST2) over a specific PCL as you can use this on all printers that support postscript (Which is pretty much every printer these days). So if your printer supports Postscript I would use POST2 otherwise PCL is fine if your print outs look ok.
Hope this helps
Michael
