High Page Memory Usage in PI/XI eph 1

Hi All,

We have activated the parameters for XI/PI Java Components: JVM Perm Size Memory Usage in Dev system (note 1295744) in our PI DEV system on 28th Aug 2010.

Later we have kept on monitoring the system page memory usage in pi dev till today = 01st Sep 2010, and we see that there is a slow but gradual usage of page memory in PID ( pls note that this is dev system and there is not much load and user activity happen here )

Just to give you a jist of it, the page memory usage by volume groups in the PID host has grown from 7% to 48%

Component version: SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1

SAP Release..... 711

SAP Basis Level. 0003

Operating system.."AIX" 5.3

DB...Oracle 10.2.0.4.0

SAP Kernel release..711, patch 44

If youve seen a situation like this any where else, please share the fix used for this issue.

We have a sap oss msg open and sap is also investigating.

i am facing the same problem with increased use of paging space.

Did SAP find any solution for this problem ?

We had our real memory getting eaten up on a daily basis in PI 7.11 Stack4

Did you find out which process is taking the memory?

Please try restarting sapstartsrv for all instances by sapcontrol command and see if it releases the memory
