Cost center setup

Hi Experts..

We have the below Requiement.

Shipments from the particular plant need to be coded to two different cost centers, depending on what product line isshipped. Would it be the right solution to setup two different shipping points for two differnt product lines?

The intent is for the shipping point to dictate the vision, which cost center and GL account to apply freight bills when received from the Freight Carrier. Please advise if this is an acceptable way to address this issue. Wouild this solution by setup a second address for plant ,can we do this using unloading points? as we do not want to setup two plant codes.

Hello Ram

Using shipping points to differntiate product lines is overkill and not recommended.

Can't you use Material Freight Group or Material Group for this?

Also I recommend using Shipment Cost document which will take care of Fi and CO postings.
