Managing deviation approvals through notifications

Dear QM experts,

Currently we are keeping a record of various deviations in SAP through the use of Notification functionality. But the process of approval of deviation is maintained outside SAP. Only the entry of approved deviations is made in SAP for record purpose only. We however would like to manage the process of deviation approvals also in SAP. Can this be managed through the use of Release function available in notifications in such a way that the authority for creating a notification be given to multiple users but that of releasing the notification be given only to be a certain specified user. Similarly is it possible to give the authorisation for completeing a notification only to a selected few when many other users have the authorisation for creating the notification.

Yes this is very much possible.In addition to Authorization it always possible to use the different statuses like "Approved by design", "Approved by Engineering" etc .This will help you to keep the track of customized Notification changes
