BRARCHIVE : Second Copy with selected Archive Sequense Logs

Dear Experts

Business Case :

We have Primary ECC Production Systems with 80 GB Archive directory Size

We have Dis-Aster Recovery Size.

The Dis-Aster Recovery Site is in Standby mo de and recovery happens , Logs will be shipped to DT site over Data Gaurd.

Internal IT Backup Policies have straight line to have 2 Copies of Archive Logs onto "2" different catridges.

Due to Netowrk Problem Log shipping happnes bit lates for different Reasons.

Actual Issue (Example):

6AM - 1 st Copy runs and backup archive log sequense 800101 to 800800 ( 700 Arvhive logs Backedup).

Now still in DR Site the above sequense is not shipped and applied we can not run2nd copy delete...

Notmally We run 8AM ( after 2 Hours of 1st copy) - which is sufficient to transfer archive generated during that time

Now - we have some incidental NW Issue & Logs ship is very slow.

Looking a Expert Tip

if in DR site the current archive log sequense is 800500 applied

Simply Now i want to run 2nd copy & delete backup only the archive sequense 800100 - 800500

" How can from this command with BRARCHIVE to do second copy and delete ofr specified range archives.?"

One workaround could be:

Split 2nd copy delete up into two runs,

for example you could have:

6AM: save

8AM: copy

10AM: delete copied

The over all requirement is to have

01) 2 Copies of Backups,

02) Automatic deltionof archive log files which backedup 2 copies and

03) free up "oraarch" directory.

The Workaround U provided

06 AM: 1st Backup of Archive Logs

08 AM: 2nd Backup of Archive Logs

10 AM: Deletetion of archive logs backed up twice.

@6AM - The backedup archive log numbers 850100 - 850900

by 10 AM - Recovery not completed til 850900 in DR SIte and found the logs shipped till 850600 & recovered till that

so still "300" log files yet to ship.

if i run "10 AM: Deletetion of archive logs backed up twice."

- it will delte all the files "850100 - 850900" in Primary & DR recovery gets stopped.

But if i have a solution to run Deletetion of archive logs backed up twice on in the range 850100 - 850600.

-- as they all applied on DR - so they can get delted.

--- It also free up the space.

Wtih work around - i am failing to acheive (2) (3) requirements listed above.

Please do correct if my understanding is wrong.
