Hello

As title says, I'm bit confused between configuring ADS on separate box or configure it with the one on portal server. Can anyone help me here with pro and cons for these two different scenarios and tell whats the sap recommand landscape for this.

I'll appreciate your time and response.

Regards

Ajay

I do not think there is any SAP recommendation for this but my suggestion would be to go with existing AS Java (EP Server) and install ADS on it.

But if you are planning to use seperate AS Java then pros will be

1. Easier to manage during upgrades.

2. If EP server is down, ADS is still available use of Interactive Forms.

Cons

1. Seperate AS Java maintenance required.

2. Increase in TCo.

3. Slightly complicated landscape.

Hello Chintan

Thanks for the detail reply. Its really helpfull. I awared the points but not closing thread as I'd like to keep it open for others input on this.

Also, one quick question, does ADS supposrt virtualizations on windows. We will like to go for virtualizations if possible.

Best Regards

Well sorry I have no idea on Virtualization but you can take a look at this [blog|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/14106] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; for Central ADS.
