Hi friends,
The scenario is the material is received in a storage location X from production. Here the material is packed and moved in to a storage location Y from where the material is finally despatched to customers or transferred to other plants. Is it possible to assign batch numbers when the material is being moved from the packing location X to the despatch location Y based on movement types. Dont want batch number assignment at the production level or when the material is accepted in location X. Please advise if this scenaro can be achieved by standard.
Regards,
Uday.
2 possible solutions:
1. Separate the location X (receipt from prroduction) and 'Y' dispatch into separate plants - one having the material not batch managed, and the other with batch management active.
2. Use a 'generic' batch number for the production location - and then assign the real batch number upon transfer.
