Defining Tolerance Limits for MIC

Hi.

I have 3 MICs in my Inspection Plan Operation:

0010 Net Weight (quantitative)

0020 Labelled Volume (quantitative)

0030 Calculated Volume (quantitative, formula is A00010/1.03)

I need to set up tolerances to valuate 0030 Calculated Volume as being within +/- 10% of 0020 Labelled Volume but I can't figure out how to do this. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you in advance,

Cristin

Wouldn't the labelled volume be a spec? I.e. Isn't this specific to the material? So I would think the value in 0020 would actually be the target spec for 0030. I.e 0020 shouldn't even be in the plan.

Well, the labelled volume varies from unit to unit (of blood in this case) so I'm not sure if it belongs in a spec. I just checked our current prod and for 16 tests I see a range of labelled volumes from 246 to 314 mL. So for each unit the acceptable +/- is different.

Gotcha. Let me think about that.

Ok.. you can do this it just depends if you want to see the calculated volume as a separate characteristic

0010 = Net Weight

0020 = Labelled Volume

0030 = Calculated Volume = C00010/1.03

0040 = Volume Tolerance = (C00020 - (C00010/1.03))/C00020 Spec range = -10.0% - 10.0%

If you don't need to see the Calculated Volume it can be done as a single formula.

0010 = Net Weight

0020 = Labelled Volume

0030 = Volume Tolerance = (C00020 - (C00010/1.03))/C00020 Spec range would be set to -10.0% - 10.0%

I hope this helps.

You are a genius! It works except that I needed to *100 to make the percentage result match the range because it was coming in as a decimal.

Thanks!

I actually had the *100 in my notes here and missed it when I posted.

Glad it works for you.

BTW: check your other posting.
