ATP check in a Quotation

Hi !!

Is it possible to configure SAP to perform a ATP in a Quotation... and have the Quotation actually reserve stock?

We are trying to see if we could use Quotations to reserve stock for a specific customer in the anticipation of a firm order from that customer.

hi anisha,

(1). with STANDARD SAP we cannot do it for Quotation.

(2). yes you can do it, give all the config settings for QT then try executing by creating quotation and check.

Hi,

Standard SAP is not supporting to Availability Check on the Quotation.

Its just an quoted price for some material which can be available on request.

So the order also not a definite order.

If SAP will do this then there is possibility that a customer who is not willing to buy can be a part of product allocation. while other side if a customer want to buy will not have stocks. this is loss of business.

Hi Rajeev,

I understand from your reply that it is simply not possible to use quotations to reserve inventory for specific customers.

We don't want to use sales orders as that causes problems with MRP and APO (that is what I have been told).

Can you suggest some other way we can reserve stock for a specific customer.

We thought about using Reservations, but they are not customer specific.

We thought about using customer consignment, but we need the stock in the warehouse (with bin# assigned).

Not sure what to do here... any ideas are welcome.
