ECC6.0 with MaxDB on Windows Server 2008

Hi All,

I am planning to install ECC6.0 with EHP4 on Windows server 2008 64bit and database as Maxdb.

I have checked on PAM and it is compatible upto Maxdb7.6 version.

I want some suggestion if I should go with windows server 2008 or I should switch to 2003 server.

Secondly If I can continue with Server 2008, I would like to know if there are much issue that will come to me while installing or after installation in terms of maintainance part, because Maxdb with windows server 2008 is a much new combination and not very much available in market right now.

Please give some valuable suggestion.

Waiting for the reply.....

Thanks

Vinay

Hmm... when I look into the PAM I do find that ECC 6.0 is supported with Win 2008 and MaxDB 7.7 already.

MaxDB 7.8 support is on it's way - so why do you want to install old and soon outdated versions ?

Lars

Hi Lars,

Its because MAXDb 7.8 support is on planned status and its uncertain that how much time will it take to get released and my project is just about to start now.

Hi Paul,

please check note 1481369.

You can already use MaxDB 7.8 with ECC 6.0.
