Hello experts,

Has anybody implemented EWM as an add on to ECC without having SCM box? I'm looking for some guide lines on best pratices, building blocks etc.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Shamsul

Thank you all for your support.

EWM can be installed as an add on to ECC with EHP 3 ro 4, we tested it on a sandbox environment. SCM is not in scope for our client and they like to have EWM so add on is the only option.

Again thanks for all the answers.

SAP highly recommends not using EWM as an add on top of R/3 ERP system for performance considerations.

What EWM features is the client looking for that are not present in R/3? If they are decided to go for EWM then using separate SCM box is the best approach.

No company ever as far as I know has used EWM just as an add-on over R/3.

Hi Khan,

Yes, it is possible to implement EWM in SAP ERP instaed of having seperate SCM server. The same is explained clearly in the SCM server master guide as well as EWM 7.0 guide in SAP SMP.

Hope this helps you.
