Quality Gate Management

Hi Team,

I would like to understand about quality gate management functionality in Sol Man. Is quality gate can be enabled only for "Implementation Type" of projects or it can be enable to "Maintenance Type" project as well?

What is the primary objective of implementing quality gate ?( or in which scenario quality gate management is applicable?)

Answer:

Quality Gate Management is a function in SAP Solution Manager and can be accessed from the Work Center "Change Management". Quality Gate Management controls the quality of software changes using Quality Gates. This gives an overview of projects and their status. Project deadlines are displayed graphically and as a list. The status of the quality gates is shown. Each project comprises four Phases: Scope, Build, Test and Deploy, separated by quality gates. The quality gates control import into subsequent systems. You can only import into a subsequent system when a quality gate is passed. The quality manager and a member of the quality advisory board must approve a quality gate for its overall status to be #Passed#.
