Polish characters getting displayed as '#'

Former Member

Hello Experts,

I am working on a SAP-script for Poland. The word " p ł a t n o ś c i " is getting displayed as "p # a t n o # c i". That means the special characters ł and ś are getting displayed as #.

In the print preview the word is displayed correctly but when we print it, those are getting converted as '#'.

Has any one faced this issue. Please let me know your valuable inputs.

Thanks,

Viswanath.

Hi Viswanath,

Which device type do you use? Try printing with device type I2SWIN or if you have a unicode system, you could also use cascading fonts device type SWINCF.

Hi,

When you print from SAP you use an output device. This is the printer definition and is maintained via transaction SPAD. In the ouptut device there is a field device type. You should maintain the device type filed with I2SWIN or SWINCF.

Aidan

1. What is the language of the form ?

2. What font are you using in the form ?

3. Does your printer support Cyrillic characters ?

Hello Suhas,

1. I created the form in Polish language.

2. I am using courier font for the same.

For the 3rd question,

I have question, How can we know that whether my printer supports that characters or not?

Thx,

Viswanath

You need to use the font COURCYR instead of COURIER.

Just to make a small note. Polish language uses character encoding [ISO 8859-2 Central and Eastern EU countries|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_8859-2] which is not [Cyrillic|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillic_alphabet].

@OP

As for the question, please search in forum for [Polish characters|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?query=polish+characters]. You may find the answer.

I won't argue with the "Polish" developer himself Anyway thanks for correcting me out.
