APO ATP Capable-To-Promise (CTP) and scheduling agreements

Is it possible that scheduling agreements trigger an CTP check?

In the SAP Online Documentation are different opinions:

CTP is not supported for SD scheduling agreements.

and

● CTP is not suitable for SD delivery schedules

The CTP process is only suitable for the item-based procedure. On the other hand, SD scheduling agreements represent a schedule line-based procedure. This form of processing causes performance problems as one scheduling agreement item may have a lot of schedule lines that have to be checked. If, for example, you create, change or delete a schedule line in a scheduling agreement item, all the schedule lines in this item have to be rechecked.

Another disadvantage is that confirmed schedule lines loose the confirmed desired date if you insert new schedule lines in between these schedule lines or if you increase or move these schedule lines.

Hi Marc,

I have mentioned below the note details for your reference

Can the CTP process be used for SD scheduling agreements?

The CTP process has been developed for item-based processing.

This is not compatible with SD scheduling agreements which represent more of

a scheduling-related processing.

If a scheduling agreement delivery schedule line is created, changed or deleted

in a scheduling agreement item, this causes the entire scheduling agreement item

to be checked once again. Since there are normally a large number of scheduling

agreement delivery schedule lines for a scheduling agreement item, this processing

causes performance problems. The CTP process is therefore not recommended for

SD scheduling agreements.

If new scheduling agreement schedule lines are inserted between existing schedule

lines or existing schedule lines are expanded or moved to another date, this may lead

to the fact that formerly confirmed schedule lines loose their confirmation on the desired

date and can be confirmed on a later date only. This often does not meet with the

customersexpectations but cannot be prevented by checking the entire scheduling

agreement item.

Hope it is clear now
