APO Capable-to-promise and rules-based ATP

Former Member

In the SAP online documentation the following in mentionend:

e.g

CTP

Scopes of check, shortage checks, use of a checking horizon and the rules-based ATP check are NOT supported.

Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling can be called using the basic methods or using the rules-based ATP check.

PP/DS can be called using the check instructions or the location determination activity when rules-based ATP is carried out.

-> This is confusing.

My question is now:

can a rule (product substitution or location determination) be considered when the CTP is activated?

Thanks for help.

Marc,

As long as CTP is the final step in the chain, CTP can work with RBA.

If your first step in the RBA is CTP, then no other evaluation or determination is done. Therefore, always arrange your determination so that 'Production' is the last possible choice, after all other possibilities (alternate plant product checks/alternate product product checks) have been exhausted.
