sapup with an application instance and a central instance

Hi

We are doing an upgrade from 4.7 to ERP6.04 / NW 7.01 ABAP, Windows and

MSSQL. We have done the upgrade and unicode migration on sandbox,

development an QA with no problems. We are now at the start of the

prepare for the productive system and this system is different from the

other systems, as we have a central instance and an application

instance on 2 different servers. I start sapup on the central/database

instance and the upgrade GUI on the same server, but sapup is going to

the application server and waiting on a connection on port 4240. Only

the server with the central instance and this is where sapup is

running, are listening on port 4240. The application server is not

listening on port 4240. Can you explain why sapup is listening on port

4240 on the application server and how can I make sapup to listen on

the central instance ? I have downloaded the newest sapup.

Problem is solved. The application instance and the central instance had the same instance no., 00, and after changing the application instance no. to 01, the prepare was able to start.

Hi

Can you make sure you are using super admin user with full access.

Also check any firewall setting restrctions. Make sure no other users / other sessions opened.

try to re-start the process and make sure all the services running.
