Hi,
I have complete data backup on EIM server.
I installed new server with SMP,once the installation is completed.I restored the EIA backup in SMP server,showing message restoration successful,but iam unable to connect the server.Any query we have to run to change the SID.Guide me for the same how to change.
Mine environment is Linux with Maxdb.

Thanks,I freshely installed sap server (with SID:SMP),installation was successfully completed.
Iam having another sap server(with SID:EIA),i took the completed backup of EIA Server.
Now i restored the EIA back up in SMP server through DBMGUI with Recovery option,its shoing restoration was successfull.
After restoration, with SMPADM : sap will starting successfully,but dispatcher is not running iam unable to connect sap server.
millprod:smpadm 23> startsap

Did you do a Restore only or "Restore with initialization"?
I Restored with option : Restore with initialization"
- Did you load the system tables after the restore was done?
- I didnt do any thing after restoration
- Could you bring up the database normally?
- Database showing online mode only.

Please follow recommended steps of SAP Note 129352< pay attention to c),d) and e) steps >.
Please login as smpadm to the server millprod and run:
R3trans u2013d
and post output.
