Problem with restarting the DSUGui for the Upgrade

Hello,

We are performing an Upgrade from 4.6C ASCII to ERP 6.0 EHP4 NW7.01.

We had till the confirmation of SPDD adjustment only minor problems.

Somehow for unknown reason the PC where the Upgrade Program (DSUGui)

was running restarted itself, I was just monitoring the upgrade and

all the windows were disappeared.

Anyway the DSUGui also terminated.

We follow the Upgrade Guides and we tried to re-start the DSUGui.

We also considered the Note 1168235 where is state that TYPE option

is not supported The command.

First a wall we just tried to start the DSUGui than we got

the following error message:

********************************

Error while connecting to communication partner - see preceeding

messages. Could not connect to host 10.45.240.133 on port 4241.

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

********************************

Than we tried with following:

1. Kill the Job UPG_A_HRX

2. Start the Upgrade Program with the following command

as described in the Upgrade manual and Notes:

STARTUP SID(HRX) RESTART(*YES)

DVDPATH('/tmp/erp60/D51036889/')

UPGDIR('/usr/sap/HRX/upg/') SAPUPLIB(SAPUP)

3. Try to restart the DSUGui . --> same error as above

4. When I look in QPRINT (wrksplf of hrxofr),

I observed many strange messages which keeping writing:

" Enter password: Confirm password:*Password must not be empty."

5. Check /usr/sap/HRX/upg/sdt/log/server.out

--> also here the message with:

"Enter password: Confirm password:*Password must not be empty"

is keeping writing in it .

We already read some thread but the most of them are related

to windows platform and I couldn't found any relevant hints to our problem.

I think it could be related to the jce_policy_zip file

because of the message with password, but the Guide says in page 81 section 5.3:

>> NOTE:

Only use the jce_policy_zip option for the initial start of the upgrade program.

If you exit the upgrade program and then restart, do not enter this parameter.

>>

I appreciate if some one of you can advise here as we want to continue at the stop point.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

Khouri

Hi,

The Problem is fixed .

The Restart command should be execute with the option '-srvarg=/RoleService/off' and restart (*YES).

The reason is that jobs:QZSHSH used mass memory (and also consume too match CPU)

Make sure that also these jobs are stopped than you will be able to continue with the Upgrade.

Regards,

Khouri
