Customer Hierarchy is used for classifying your customers according to regional level changing company design, third party customers, cunsumption orgeographical area, or sales workforce(sales manager, sales man etc). It is configured according to account group assignments.
For example:
according to geographical area;
Please assume we have a real customer number in the lowest hierarchy level in account group ( Zxxx), and if we go to the highest level in the customer hierarchy level we can assign this hierarchy as below:

ZXXX (this is real customers and we can assign many customer numbers to higher lever).
By this, if you want to apply rebate,discount,and specific pricing, promotions for europe region,you can apply this pricing chamges to the level of that hierarchy instead of that applying each of customers in that area. by this way, you can apply it for specific region and it effecs lower levels. Additionally, it provides a more efficient statistical analysis and pricing control.
For customizing hierarchy, you should go to the img activities of that SD >> master data >> business partner >> customers >> customer hierarchy. and you should do "define hierarchy types , set partner determination, assign account groups , ssign sales area, Assign Hierarchy Type For Pricing By Sales Document Type".
But for the hierarchy assignment, you need to find ore doc. from the internet pages because of that we can not enough information here.
